Kamilka, the Czech Republic

I like many films but one of my favourite ones  is Romeo and Juliet from the 1996. This movie is from Baz Luhrmann and it‘s the adaptation to Romeo and Juliet from  Sheakespeare but in the modern world of America in 20th century. In the role of Romeo is Leonardo DiCaprio! He is my favourite actor and I like him so much (but more when he was younger).

In the role of Juliet is Claire Danes. I love this couple! I like this film because it has done a very good cinematography job, it has good actors and because it‘s a story about Romeo and Juliet and I think that this story isn‘t only about love. It‘s about us. About people. Shakespeare wanted to tell us something like: Look at what we can become.

Tom, the Czech Republic

Firstly, my favourite film is Interstellar from director Christopher Nolan with Mathew Mc Conaughey and Anne Hathaway in the main roles. And one of the things I liked the most was the music by a famous composer Hans Zimmer (he also did soundtracks for famous films like Last Samurai or The Batman Trilogy). Because of this music (and many other things) the film is very unique and it has incredible spirit.

And on the second position there are these four films all from director Quentin Tarantino – Django Unchained, Inglorious Bastards, Kill Bill vol.1 and vol.2. In all those films very famous actors like Jamie Foxx, Christopher Waltz, Brad Pitt or Uma Thurman played the parts of the main characters. 

Vojtech, the Czech Republic

I was born in Olomouc where I lived for ten years but three years ago we moved to Samotisky where I currently live. Samotisky is a small village near Olomouc. It has population about 2000 people. The weather in Samotisky is typical for our region. Winters are sometimes cold and summers are hot and dry. Samotisky is not a very exciting village but it is safe and clean. Samotisky is near the zoo in Svaty Kopecek and that is why everybody knows it. What I like best about Samotisky is that you can go for a walk to the forest and it is very relaxing for me.

David, the Czech Republic

Well, this topic is not exactly right… I don’t have a favourite book. But I have a favourite genre of books. And my favourite genre of books is… Fantasy.
I didn’t always liked fantasy the most, it had a war with Sci-fi (and still has), but, now it is my favourite genre of books. “And why fantasy?” you might have ask. Well, I don’t know. I think it’s because of the magic and creatures and so on. Yeah that might be it.

I don’t have a favourite author, but 2 favourite authors. First of them is Christopher Paolini, he did a really good four books old serie about a boy named Eragon (Ruda was talking about it); and the second one is Erin Hunterová. Now this is not a typical author, because it’s 9 authors in one. She (they) are writing a very good serie. In fact, it has 3 series and every serie has 6 books. But in czech there are only first five books of first serie, and in English there are a total of 10 books now. This summer will (hopefully) be released the sixth book.
So yeah, that’s it.

Ema, the Czech Republic

My favorite book – Miss Peregrine’s home for peculiar children is the first part of the trilogy, but still the best. The story is about Jake, his granfather and grandfathers old friends on remote island. Grandpa’s friends aren’t normal, quite the opposite. It started with stories and pictures and ended with ….. OK, no spoilers here :). It’s an adventurous, exciting and a breathtaking story. I’d like to write more about the plot here, but the amazing storyline doesn’t fit into a hundred words and ….. I can’t describe it as amazingly as it is when you feel the book in your hands and smell the new book. So maybe it will be best if you read yourself.

My name is Karolína and I love Harry Potter movies and books. My favourite book is Harry Potter and Order of Phoenix, because I love how they practise spells. I do not really like Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows, it is boring for me. My favourite movie is Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban, because I do not really like Voldemort and this is the only film without Voldemort. I do not like Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire, I think the book is better. My favourite characters are Ginny Weasly, Ron Weasly and Seamus Finigan.

Zuzanna Woźniak, Class 6a, Poland

In my life, I haven’t really done anything interesting.

Once, when I was eight years old, me and my cousin went to an aqua park in Warsaw. I remember that I almost got lost because I had come back to use the waterslide once again, so she had to search for me. That was probably the most “exciting” thing that ever happened to me.

I have visited a few different cities in Poland, which are – Warsaw, Gdańsk and Sopot. Maybe I have visited more, but I don’t remember. I have also been to a place called Wysoka Wieś (I just recently found out the name of this village, I did not even know that it was one). Outside of Poland, I have been to Japan, where I spent a week in Fukuoka, UAE, where I spent a few days more in Dubai and Singapore. This summer holiday I’m going to fly to South Korea.

I have tried to learn many languages – unfortunately, apart from Polish and English, I still can’t speak any. I can only call my basic German decent.

I have taken part in a lot of English contests, and in one I even got the first place.

I have never lived outside of Cracow, but the time I have spent in Warsaw where my cousin lives is probably a few months – I go there every holiday for even a few weeks.

I have also been trying to draw, but when I learnt some basics, I got a long break and forgot everything.

I have watched a lot of bad TV shows. When I’m with my cousin, we always watch a few of those every day because we like to make fun of them. I have also watched some good things, of course, but they aren’t even half as funny as those ones!

I have tried cooking. While I’m not horrible at it, I still have to train a lot. I find cooking really relaxing, I don’t know why.

My favourite animal is a snake. I really like snakes, they are very interesting! For example there is a snake that can kill a million mice with the maximum amount of venom (used at one time)! Snakes are also very nice to people if they take good care of them. It’s a little bit weird but actually snakes have cool skin. It is very nice to the touch!
Taking care of snakes is really hard! If you have a big snake you need to feed it with mice that are alive! What about small snakes? They eat small mice that don’t even have hair! You need to keep them in a freezer (they are dead of course).
My favourite snake is Boa, because it looks great. I have always wanted to have a snake in my house but my mum says that she hates snakes, and having one in home would be a nightmare for her. I’m a little bit sad about this…

Gabriela Gradzi, Class 5a, Poland

My best holidays were last year, that is 2018. That trip was to Portugal to the island of Madeira. I was there with my mother, cousin, aunt and uncle. We were there 10 days. We flew by plane from the airport in Katowice. The departure was at 6:41. We flew six hours without any turbulence. I love to fly by plane.

We were in a botanical garden where turtles were large. We were at the Cristiano Ronaldo museum. The last two days of our stay the staff served ice cream for 2 euros. It was the best in the whole world.

My best holidays that I remember was in 2016. We went with my family to Bosnia I Herzegovina in July. We were supposed to go to Croatia, but we decided to stay in Medziugorie, a small town in Bosnia and Herzegovina and commute to the Croatian sea.

We traveled to Medziugorie for over thirteen hours because we had to drive 1343 kilometres. On holidays we were fourteen days. During this time we visited Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We visited the old bridge there. We drove a lot to the beaches of Gradac and Split. We also wanted to sail to the island of Korcula, but we were late and the ship sailed away. When we arrived, we returned to the car and drove to see Dubrovnik.

I liked those holidays. We visited a lot of new places worth seeing.

Szymon Golonka, Class 3a, Poland

I like to spend my holidays at the seaside because I like swimming in the sea, playing on the sand and spending time with my family. I also like diving using a diving mask and flippers. I love to watch the underwater world and the fishes and any other water creatures. I like to sleep in the tent on the campsite. On the campsite you can make friends with kids from all over the world and you can improve your English. That is why I like to learn English at school. This year I‘m going with my family to Tenerife and I’m going to spend a lot of time in the water. I also want to discover the island – it’s nature and animals. I cannot wait to go there.

I like tasty food. My favourite food are pizza, spaghetti and ice-cream, but they aren’t healthy. I need to eat more fruit and vegetables.

For breakfast I like eggs and sandwiches with cheese and lettuce or bacon and tomato. I like some milk with cereal, too.

For lunch, I eat a roll with ham and ketchup, and some biscuits.

I eat soup and the main course for dinner. My favourite soup is cucumber soup. I like chicken soup, too. For the main course I like turkey with salad and rice or fish with potatoes and carrots. I drink some water and juice.

For dessert I like ice-cream or apple pie.

I also eat a lot of apples, oranges, bananas, kiwi fruits, raspberries, grapefruits and lemons. I like strawberries with cream and sugar.

My mum’s name is Ewa. She is a beautician. She has got long brown hair and grey eyes. She is short and I’m taller than my mum. She likes to ride a bike and listen to music. Her favourite band is Queen. She wants to read a lot of books but she hasn’t got time for it because she has got too many things to do. She can do beautiful manicure and make-up.

My dad’s name is Romek. He is a driver and he distributes beds and armchairs to hospitals in Poland. He’s got short black hair, a beard, a moustache and green eyes. He is very tall. He likes to work, ride a bike and play football. Football is his favorite sport. He can do a lot of things at the same time. He can cook very well.

I have a young sister and her name is Nina. She is four years old and she goes to preschool. She is very cute. She has got long curly blonde hair and green eyes. She likes to draw and learn new things. Also, she knows one letter „a” and she can write this letter. She is very intelligent even though she is young. Nina loves cats, princesses, pink colour and everything that has got glitter.

My brother’s name is Maciek and his second name is Kacper. He was born on 28th of March 2011. He is eight years old and he goes to the first grade.

He usually wears dark clothes and jeans. He has got blond, curly, short hair and blue eyes.

My brother likes playing Minecraft on the computer and drawing characters from this game. He doesn’t like playing games on the console. Maciek collects lego sets and Minecraft figurines. His favourite colours are green, blue, white, black and grey. His hobby is playing the guitar after school.

My brother goes to music classes at his school on Monday afternoons. Maciek also learns to swim. He likes jumping on a trampoline with me and my friend Emilia. Recently Maciek liked playing with wooden tracks and trains with a railway switch.

His favourite series of books is „Magic tree house”. Maciek reads short books because he is learning to read now.

My brother doesn’t like flowers and dangerous animals. Maciek’s favourite soft toy in his collection is a small brown squirrel.

His favourite subject at school is Polish language and he likes writing in his notebook.

My brothers’ best friends are Wojtek, Szymon and Krzysiek.

I have got a small family. My close family consists of 6 people: my mom, sister, grandmom, grandad and my aunt. My mom is a beautiful woman. She has got long, brown hair and brown eyes. She is thin and medium height. My mom is smart and likeable. She is a lawyer and she works hard. My sister is sixteen, her name is Maja. She has got long, straight, fair hair. I have a big family, they live like me in Cracow.

My mother is Angelika. She has long dark hair, she’s skinny and wears glasses. She is 34 years old. She is kind and modest. I like to go shopping with her and talk about times when she was a little girl. She loves painting, but she doesn’t have too much time for it. Mom loves animals and flowers.

My dad is Rafał. He has short dark hair and he’s not tall. He is 35 years old. He is very funny. My dad likes good food and  watching movies. He works in the police. My dad works a lot, he is busy even on holidays.

My little brother is Wojtek.  He has short blonde hair, he is short and skinny. Wojtek has a favorite toy dog whose name is Chase. My brother likes to go to kindergarten. He is really cute and he likes to cook with our mum. Sometimes he is shy. Parents say, he is a calm and quiet child, so he’s different than me 🙂 I love him a lot.

I really like fishing shells with him in the ocean. I go to Croatia with him every year. He likes to play computer games. He works at night as a driver and tries to rest during the day.

My grandma’s name is Beata. Granny has curly brown hair and light blue eyes. She is 57 years old and she’s very positive about life. She’s joyful. She taught me to play the guitar. She likes spending time in the garden.

My greatgrandfather’s name is Wiesław, but we all call him Wiesiu. He has short white hair and a big belly. He is 77 years old. He often treats us with sweets. He is caring and smart. He likes to play football with my brother Wojtek, watch TV, and eat apples 😉

My mother’s grandma lives in the same house. Her name is Irena. Everyone calls her grandma Irenka. She is very short and wears glasses.  Grandma is helpful and very active, she helps everyone.

My uncle’s name is Sebastian. He is my mother’s brother. He has short black hair. He is very tall and skinny .He is funny and nice. He is strong and works in the army. Uncle has a small daughter of the same age as my brother. I like meeting my uncle, aunt and the little cousin. My aunt is very pretty and friendly.

I’m Kacper. I’m 13 years old. I live in Cracov with my mum, dad and little sweet sister.

Mikołaj Garb, Class 5a, Poland

My day begins at 7.00 AM , later I have breakfast ( usually milk soup). Next I brush my teeth for 4 minutes. I go to school at 7.40 AM.

My lessons start at 8 o’clock. In the school we learn Geography, English, Polish, maths, PE, IT, music, art, history and biology. I usually have six lessons.

On Monday I go to the swimming pool and the gym after school. On Tuesday and Wednesday, I have got additional English lessons. On Thursday I go to the swimming pool at 6.45 PM. On Friday I go to the scout meetings.

At the weekend I sometimes go to grandparents to the countryside. But usually I stay home and I play games on xbox with friends or I go to the pitch and play football.

Zuzanna Karcz, Class 5a, Poland

My week starts on Monday when I wake up at 7:00 AM and go to school. After school I sometimes hang out with my friends. Next I go home, eat dinner and have a short rest. After the rest I do my homework. When I finish homework, I listen to music and learn Korean. My Tuesday looks similar, but after school I don’t hang out with my friend because I go to the pool. I really like swimming. On Wednesday after school I learn Korean and hang out with my friends, do my homework and get ready for Thursday. This Wednesday is different because my school has The Sports Day once a year. On Thursday after homework and learning for Friday exams I usually go to the cinema. I like Marvel productions. On Friday a school week ends and a weekend starts. Friday and Saturday are my favourite days. These days are really relaxing. At weekend I do Friday homework, study and go for a walk with my family.

Wiktor Pawluk, Class 5a, Poland

Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini was born on June 24, 1987 in Rosario, Santa Fe province. He is an Argentine footballer who plays as an attacker in the Spanish FC Barcelona. In FC Barcelona he is the captain, the same in the Argentina national team.

Wiktor Pawluk, Class 5a, Poland

Philippe Coutinho Correia was born on June 12, 1992 in Rio de Janeiro. Philippe is 27 years old.He is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a left striker in the Spanish FC Barcelona. His father’s name is Ze Carlos Coutinho, and his mother’s name is Don Esmeralda Coutinho.

He started his adventure with the ball from futsal and a nearby concrete pitch.Thanks to his friend’s grandmother, Philippe Coutinho,  was enrolled in Clube dos Sargentos (1998). In March 1999, the Coutinho club was declared by the Mangueira club of the futsal Rio de Janeiro federation and as the youngest player in the team helped his team win the national championship in the Fraldinh category.

Coutinho is fast, with a good dribble, field review, he can shoot a strong shot, he has precise passes. Philippe Coutinho is 175 centimeters tall, has short, dark and straight hair. He has a wife, Aine Coutinho. He played in 382 games, scored 92 goals.

Right after Messi he is my second favorite player.

Zuzanna Karcz, Class 5a, Poland

Jimin’s real name is Park Ji-min. He is also known as Jimin. He was born on October 13, 1995 in Busan, South Korea. He is South Korean. He is a musician (singer) by profession. He was a student at Hanlim School performing arts. He is a dancer, too. He belongs to South Korean boysband BTS. He was last to join them. In 2013 they recorded a song ” No More Dream”. His solo songs are „Lie” released in 2016, „Serendipity” in 2017 and „Promise” in 2018. Jimin also made Charlie Puth’s „We don’t talk anymore” cover with Jungkook.

Julia Ślęczka, Class 5a, Poland

Taco Hemigway that is Filip Tadeusz Szcześniak is a Polish rapper. He was born on July 29 , 1990 in Kair Egypt, but he’s Polish. He started his career in 2011 . After a year he took a nickname Taco Hemigway . His first album’s name is ” Young Hems ” . In 2014 another album appeared called ” Trójkąt Warszawski „. Years 2012-2017 were a big success , which gave him big popularity . But the biggest success was a common album with Quebonafide ” Soma 0,5 mg „. It sold more than 100,000 copies in less than eight months. The most famous songs are: „Szprycer” , „Mamur” , „Café Belga” , „6 zer” , „Deszcz na betonie” , „Nostalgia”, ” Fiji” and a common bit ” Tamagotchi”.

He was nominated for the Fryderyk Award ten times from 2016 to 2019. He was a laureate three times in the hip-hop album of the year category. He was also nominated for the : MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARDS and Bestsellery Empiku.

I love his work and personality ! This year I’m going to his concert in Warsaw.

Zuzanna Woźniak, Class 6a, Poland

One of my biggest idol’s name’s Kim Yerim. She was born on March 5th of 1999 in Seoul, South Korea.

Her stage name is Yeri, and she’s the fifth member of a girl group called Red Velvet. They debuted in 2014 with a song called „Happiness” under SM Entertainment, but Yeri was added into the group a year later because she was too young to debut at that time. Not so long ago, on March 14th, she also came out with her first solo project, „Dear Diary”. She sometimes takes part in writing RV’s lyrics, but she has also written songs for other artists since 2018. In the group, she’s a vocalist and a rapper, and obviously, she’s the maknae (youngest member). While with the other girls she may not look as interesting, her solo really shows how talented Yeri is, but not many people seem to see this.

In Red Velvet, every member has her own representative animal and color, and in her case, the animal is a turtle (because she resembles one) and the color’s purple. Her representative fruit is a violet grape!

Yeri was a student of Hanlim Multi Art School, and she had very good grades. She became a trainee in the fifth grade, and even though she didn’t debut in 2014, she appeared in the „Happiness” music video along with a few other girl trainees.

She’s really good friends with Im Nayeon, who’s a part of another girl group, TWICE, which is under JYP Entertainment. They even had friendship jewellery, which they wore very often for music shows. Yeri also has three younger sisters (one was born a year after her, and the other two are both more than ten years younger) that she’s close with. 

Yeri’s English name is Katy.

I think that she’s really talented and beautiful. Maybe she’s not the strongest vocalist or the best dancer, but since she joined the band, I haven’t been able to imagine what Red Velvet would be like without her.
